Penicillin G aka benzylpenicillin 

has the formula C16H18N2O4S.

Amoxicillin and PENVK are used to 

treat oral infections seen in the oral cavity.


Sometimes Penicillin is given to a patient 

immediately before in-office procedures for 

systemic issues. It is also available in pills, 

cream, and IV. Three scientists who helped 

to bring Penicillin into clinical use were 

awarded the Nobel Prize 3 years later in 1945.

The drug is synthesized by P. Chrysogenum 

using deep tank fermentation and is then purified. 

Cephalosporins are available to those allergic to

Penicillin. The medicine helps the prohibit cell 

wall synthesis in Gram-positve bacteria.

London School of Dental Surgery 

(originally named the Dental Hospital of London), 


founded in 1858 by the Odontological 

Society of London with 43 initial students, 

all of whom passed the qualifying exams 

in 1860 and were awarded Licentiates in Dental 

Surgery given by the Royal College of Surgeons.
