Founded in Washington, DC in 1881, Howard University College of 

Dentistry is the fifth-oldest dental school in the 

U. S. and the first established at a Historically 

Black College or University (HBCU). The school offers a 

four-year D.D.S. program along with a D.D.S./PhD 

dual degree for those who want that path. The 

school has about 300+ students in all, including 

two-year International Students. 

The current Dean is 

Dr. Dexter Woods.
