Don't Bring Peptococcus Home...To Meet The Family!



In the family Peptococcaceae,  we find the 

gram-positive Peptococcus niger. The 

species is part of the natural flora and 

microbiome of the mouth, large intestines, 

and the upper respiratory tract. The 

antibiotic Mezlocillin is toxic to the 

bacteria. When we swallow the boluses 

of food and saliva, we feed Peptococcus niger 

to further parts down the alimentary tract.

Oral Mucosa Is Like The Rug...Of The Mouth!




Lining the inside of the mouth, the oral mucosa 



is a mucous membrane made of stratified 



squamous epithelium and a lamina propria 



connective tissue layer.

It naturally sheds with 

some frequency to keep the microbial inhabitants 

in lower abundance. It also provides functions 

such as protection, facilitates movement 

during chewing, and providing sensations.

Calculus Of The Dental Kind... Is Made Of Rocks!...Not Math!






When Dental plaque is not brushed and flossed 

off over time, it can harden into calculus (tartar), 


which is mineralized dead microorganisms and 

can house living bacteria, et al. Seen above, at, 


and under the gumlines, it can lead to gum 

problems. It then needs to be removed by 

Dental Professionals.
